I owe my first bout of tolerable running to a foster dog named Grace. She was a runner all right. Only problem was, if she ever got loose, she’d keep on running, and running, and running.
Sherry came to a fork in the road. And she waited for her momma. I am fostering the most amazing dog on the planet. Smooches, kid. This is what a proud parent must feel like.
One year after Sherry came hurtling through my house, obliterating my couch, mincing my speaker cords, and pooping two feet up the wall, she is now the picture of peaceful serenity. Mission accomplished.
Age catches up to all of us eventually—even the infamous ABT.
